We Can Remember It For You Wholesale

Today, I read the original inspiration for the 90's sci-fi flick Total Recall with Schwarzenegger and loved it equally as much as the movie.

The movie expands greatly upon the very short story written by Philip K. Dick, and does justice to the loose ends he left. In the short story he never actually returns to mars to seek out the truth of his secret mission; he instead turns himself in to discover the truth of his past and to avoid any further damage or confusion in his life. The ending to the short story is very cool though, but would have been impossible to include in the plot of the movie.

Read it.

basking in this ancient light
witnessing with infant eyes
the prime of a planet
the fate of some cancered sun

as we blot out the moon
we gash open the past
roaming on cosmic lanterns beings stare at another,
at a space and time unknown

to know this is to know yourself as an intelligent being
to see this is to see the universe as god
________

Why does the word "god" spur preconceived imagery? Automatically there is an assumption on what is being referenced. God is indefintely undefined in my mind, everchanging with my mood, needs, and imagination; an idea or concept so heavy, like god, should be personal on every level at all times. This understanding and acceptance of eachother's relationship with whatever god is, to us, should be the focus of praise and silence.

Late Night Thoughts

- Do you ever wonder what a year sounds like?

- Omnitonal; All possible notes simultaneously, audible and inaudible.

- When you're truly listening, to a narrative, music, or anything, you see outside yourself. In this state of mind, nothing else matters.

- The million mile stare is about listening, not staring.

feel sick....

Life On Mars???

Like I was talking about before, rumors have been shooting through the airwaves lately about NASA finding life on Mars, but to soothe all the conspirators they've released this article... enjoy CLICK ME

(1972) : Solaris

I just witnessed one of the greatest, and longest, sci-fi movies ever made. 'Solaris' , based on the novel by Stanislaw Lem, was a psychological sci-fi movie based on an alien planet that seems to be affected by the presence of the human conscience. The ocean-planet appears to feed off of dreams, brain waves, or just the psyche in general, but primarily at night time. In the words of Ken Andrews, it's "...ON AN OCEAN THAT HAS A BRAIN AND MAKES US DREAM." It physically manifests memories; places, people, etc. from one's past. Great movie, but it's about 3+ hours, so unless you really like old sci-fi, maybe just watch the remake, its about half the length. Click the title to check out the specs.

+++How to correct your trajectory : Nasa
+++Peony Nebula-Star
Some sweet videos posted on Nasa's site. I was reading about the new Phoenix discoveries on mars, and yes they did find water. There's rumors floating around the internet that information was heavily filtered before it was released, and complete omission of some important details may have occurred.

GALACTUS NOW!!!

If you don't know who galactus is, and your on my blog, now is the time to learn. Galactus is the cosmic character in the Marvel Comics Universe who eats planets, Gulay! He is my favorite marvel character not only because he eats planets, or because of his kick ass suit and helmet, but because he lived in the Universe that existed prior to the present as Galan. He lived through the Big Crunch and The Big Bang and is now considered a force of nature, not just a mere physical being. His path is like the word of god, undisputable, (except the O.G. Testament). This is my first sketch, I'm still working on it, but I figured I'd upload it anywho.
